The Lord Is Their Refuge
The psalmist laments the fact that it seems like the whole world is filled with evildoers oppressing the righteous—those who are overwhelmed with sin. The psalmist rests assured that God will judge the evildoers, but will be the refuge of the righteous.
What Can the Righteous Do?
When challenged and confronted by evildoers, the psalmist reminds us that while the righteous cannot take matters into their own hands, the Lord will take vengeance.
What Is Man That You Are Mindful?
The psalmist is amazed and full of praise that God, such an all-powerful being, would be mindful of humanity, who seems so insignificant by comparison to the universe.
