Praise You, God!

Today’s Text:

Psalm 67 (WEB) — For the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. A Psalm. A song. 1 May God be merciful to us, bless us, and cause his face to shine on us. Selah. 2 That your way may be known on earth, and your salvation among all nations, 3 let the peoples praise you, God. Let all the peoples praise you. 4 Oh let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you will judge the peoples with equity, and govern the nations on earth. Selah. 5 Let the peoples praise you, God. Let all the peoples praise you. 6 The earth has yielded its increase. God, even our own God, will bless us. 7 God will bless us. All the ends of the earth shall fear him.

1. What is happening in this passage?

A call for God’s people to praise Him so the world may know the glories of God and all He does.

2. What is God revealing about humanity?

Our place in the world is to praise God and fear Him, for all our gladness, joy, and harvests are not from us, but from God. We point others to God by our praise to Him.

3. What is God revealing about Himself?

He is the One from whom all our blessings flow: grace, salvation, joy, equity, guidance, and harvests. Therefore, He is the One worthy of all our praise. Knowing the ways of God leads to salvation and His many blessings.

4. How should our lives change?

If we know God, our role is to praise Him and highlight His glorious blessings to draw the world to Him. Our response to God’s amazing grace is a mighty testament to those in our lives who don’t yet know God. How are you praising God visibly today?
