5 Ideas For Spiritual New Year Resolution Goals

A new year is a new beginning. We should always be ever growing and ever working on improving ourselves. If you are like me, then you are still deciding what your goals for the year will be. Better late than never haha!! For my family December was very busy, and the New Year slipped up on me rather quickly, so I haven’t been able to reflect on what growth I planned to work on for myself. But even though the new year has already begun, we can have peace knowing that with every day we get a “new year” with God. God will always allow us to return, repent, and try again. So as you begin to think about your year of self improvement, let your Spiritual health be at the top of your list. So in this article, I will be giving 5 starter ideas for us as we start to think about where we want to be in our walk with God by the time 2026 rolls around.

  1. Spend Time In the Bible Each Day

    • 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - “All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.”

  2. Start Each Day In A Pray Of Praise And Thanksgiving (not asking for anything)

    • 1 Thessalonians 5:18 - “in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

  3. Memorize One Bible Verse Per Week

    • Psalm 119:11 - “Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You.”

  4. Commit To Being A Servant To Someone At Least Once Per Week

    • Galatians 5:13 - “For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

  5. Sit Down Once A Week To Reflect On Your Spiritual Health, Then Plan Out How You Will Improve The Following Week

    • Lamentations 3:40 - “Let us examine and probe our ways, And let us return to the Lord.”

Conclusion:

So today, if you haven’t decided to have a Spiritual Goal for this year, I urge you to set one!! I know that I will be committing to some in the next few days. Even if it is a simple goal. Work on that goal daily. This goal will help us get through this next year, and most importantly it will help us get home to Heaven. Let’s work hard towards our true home in Heaven in 2025. You never know if this will be the year that God will call us home. What goal will you set for 2025?
